The world as we know it is changing. It is changing at a much faster rate than ever before. In the world today, there is more crime, more poverty, and more darkness than ever before. It is almost as if it can be coded by the Revelations within the bible. Every time you turn a corner you are approached by a homeless person asking for food or money. Everytime you turn on the TV or pick up your smartphone you see reports of the crimes that have unfolded. You can't even walk don't the street without gaining a sense of fear of what might happen to you. We as a nation are hurting more than ever before. We as people are searching for answers.
I write this article for the grief, pain, and sorrow I feel as a citizen of the United States. In the past couple of days, out country has been hit with tragedy. From the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, to the tragic shooting of Philando Castile in Minnesota, and now the horrific shooting of police officers in Dallas. Our society is so electronically advanced now that within hours of each of these events video evidence was uploaded to the internet through social media platforms. This evidence was some of the most gruesome surveillance one could ever wish to see. I am still shocked from what I saw when I proceeded to watch them. The videos showed the deaths of both Alton Sterling and Philando Castile who were both shot in the form of police brutality. The videos showed a warlike atmosphere in the streets of Dallas. It's crazy to think that videos of death and chaos went viral for all to see. These are things that are not even supposed to be shown in public videos but have to in order to gain justice. Everyone has seen them even kids. They are there for all eyes to see. This is the world we live in today.
To the friends and family of those deceased in these horrific event, I am so sorry you have to live with this pain. I cant even begin to fathom what you all are feeling. Your country is mourning the loss of your loved ones alongside you. We are here for you. Remember, justice will be served. God has a plan even though you may not see it yet. These deaths will not be in vain. There is a reason for everything and I truly believe something important will come from these situations. As times goes on, we will continue to pray for you. We love you and god is watching over you.
Now, Did I know any of these victims? No. Was I there when these tragedies unfolded? No. That still isn't going to stop me from having a voice in the matter. Some of taken advantage of this power and abused it by using slander and being ignorant on social media. It can be seen everywhere if you down your feeds. It is ok to have a voice on these topics but you need to have the right voice. Instead of having a voice of ignorance, we should all thoroughly research each event and then gain a voice of justice and righteousness. Cussing out cops is not going to solve anything but spreading awareness and knowledge can save lives. Stand up for what is right but do it the right way.
Within the past few years, there have been many acts of police brutality and it is only getting worse. People tend to base these events off of just what has happened to one race but there have been acts of brutality done to every race. Police are too quick to kill these days when their jobs are to protect lives not take them. We must all learn to carry ourselves in ways that won't place us in these potentially fatal situations. We have to look out for one another in this world. With this being said, I truly believe that ALL LIVES MATTER. When we turn it into "black lives matter" then it causes a separation between people and during this time we need all people to come together. The black community has every right to be upset but don't separate yourselves from the world. Not every white person is a racist. Not every cop is bad. Not every Muslim is a terrorist. There are stereotypes that go on for days. Instead of separating yourselves, unite with the people that want to help you and that want to make this world a better place. At the end of the day, we shouldn't see color. We all bleed the same color blood at the end of the day. We should love all. All lives matter.
We all must remember that violence is not the answer to this problem. Violence will only cause the problems to escalate. More people will get hurt. We don't need to lose anymore innocent lives we must come together and unite as one for peace. It is a change that must take place over time. The faster we work at it then the faster the world changes. We can do it. We can keep this country safe. This is our home. These are our brothers and sisters. Let's end this now. God bless America.
