When it comes to college, especially in your second or third year, money is not usually very plentiful, so when it came time to form a Christmas list for the relatives that have been asking since October, mine had a few too many things that I knew I was going to need, but really didn't want to spend my hard-earned money on.
1. Razors
There is nothing worse than cheap, crappy razors, and they can get expensive. No college kid really wants to spend $20 on the five razor heads, and even the disposable ones have gotten ridiculous. There isn't a better stocking stuffer out there right now, if you ask me.
2. A Good Toothbrush and Toothpaste

3. Toilet Paper
This may just be a personal thing, but there is nothing I hate more than spending the money I work so hard for on toilet paper. It is so much money and is extremely necessary so it may seem ridiculous, but maybe I'll find a large package under the tree this year.
4. Gas Gift Cards
People of all ages can understand the struggle of paying for gas, but that struggle is just intensified with the lacking amounts of dollar bills sitting in a college kid's bank account. If you're looking to buy a christmas gift for a student with a car, you can't go wrong with one of these.
5. "Fancy" Shampoo and Conditioner
The 99-cent shampoo from Walmart isn't exactly what I want to be putting in my hair, so if I want to have a shot at luscious, voluptuous locks in the next few months, this is the best way to get some salon, or high-quality, hair products in my life.
6. Food

7. Coffee
Chances are this would be put to good use in the upcoming months to keep them up during an all-nighter or wake them up in the morning before a long day, but there are very few kids out there who don't enjoy a cup of joy every now and then.
8. Cash
There's nothing better than giving this kind of gift to a college student with no money. This gives them the discretion to pay bills, go out to eat, or whatever else they desire in their life that the college budget is keeping them from at the current moment.
So, when you are shopping for college students this Christmas, don't overlook some of the less glamorous, more realistic options because chances are they probably need it all anyway, and really don't want to fork their money over on things they don't like to buy.
