Bringing Back my "Old- School" Video Games

Recently, in my long, never-ending move, I had discovered some older video games(and consoles) that I had in my possession. Of course, I packed them and brought them to my new home with me. While unpacking, it was only natural to give those old school games I packed a try, right? Now, don't get me wrong, I love new video games, and new "call of duting" as much as anybody else, but nothing will beat some old school games and consoles. I tried out a few so far.

**These might not be old school, to you but these are my opinions.**

1.) Wii- New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Now, I know what you're thinking. "There's a ton of Mario games what one are you talking about? Blah, blah, and blah." Well, everybody will know this one because it's the one that comes from Wii that is in an ALL red case! On this one, you have to go through 8 worlds (spoiler alert) sometimes 9 worlds. While going through challenges, just picture your everyday Mario game. We have the question boxes, coins everywhere, and a couple mushroom people (Toads) following you along the way.

2.) PS3- Call of Duty Black Ops 1- Zombies

The original 4, Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen. Currently, on my ps4 (Black Ops 3) , I do love zombies more than anything. I am obsessed with the game mode, but I have to admit, nothing will beat the original. I love the first map "Keno" (with the theater.) The original perks and the mystery box guns are OP. You could never lose if you got the original ray gun, of course, it would start making crawlers on the higher rounds, but still the gun you would wish for every time you hit that box.

3.) Wii- Guitar Hero 3

Ahh-- my childhood and horrid middle school days are being reimagined. I used to come home every day and spend hours on this game. The songs on this are the reasons why I recognize them on the radio today. "Barracuda" was the absolute best, and every girl that ever played was obsessed with being the character with the pink hair. I also blame this song for my obsession with the song "Devil Went Down to Georgia."

4.) Wii- Mario Kart

Y'all knew this one was coming. Who wasn't obsessed with this game growing up? Whether it was on the Wii, or the Nintendo DS, you played this game over and over. My favorite character was Dry Bones, and playing this game brought back memories of people who played me throwing their controllers. ( I was a Mario Kart champ-- at least I thought I was at the time.) Replaying this game made me realize I got a little rusty, but you can always shake off the rust. PSA Rainbow Road is the reason I have anger issues. Just kidding. I think.

5.) PS4- Rock Band4

Yup... this ones not so "old school," but I shoved this game in my closet back at the old house, and now at the new house, i've been playing it for 2 days straight. Honestly, any rock band is the "ish" and who doesn't love making a band with your bros? Just don't go into a "friendly" competition that's when instruments fly.

And--that's old school to me. Those games were my childhood, and now I am obsessed with them once again. Hope this inspired you to pull out a Wii Gamecube, PS2, PS3, Xbox360, or something else along those lines, keep gaming everybody!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
