My roommate and I were searching through Netflix trying to find another show to binge watch. We stumbled across a lot of shows (most of which seemed uninteresting), until we finally decided on one: "Twisted."
Starring Avan Jogia and Maddie Hanson, this show is about Danny Desai, a teenage boy who comes back to his hometown after having an unsettling past, and by unsettling, I mean that he killed his aunt with a jump rope when he was 10.
It's now five years later and he is back at his old high school, but nothing is the way it used to be. His old best friends, Jo and Lacey, are skeptical about his return, while the rest of the school considers him to be just a crazy sociopath. And of course it does not help that someone from his high school dies on his first night back.
Now, it might seem strange that I would be writing this about a show that has so many strange twists and turns, but those twists and turns are what makes this show so great.
The writers of this ABC Family show did an amazing job at keeping you on your toes. There was not one moment throughout this entire series that I was able to guess what was going to happen next. Every time I thought I had it figured out, ABC Family decided to switch it up. How often do you have a show that keeps you guessing like that. I am not going to spoil the storyline for you, but there is just so much going on, leaving this story completely "twisted."
And besides, who doesn't love watching anything with Avan Jogia in it?
Overall, this is a great show that's time was up way too soon. I would love at least one more season, even if it is half of one, just to tie up the loose ends. I cannot tell you how loud I gasped at the end of the show and then realized I would never have an answer to all of my questions.
So ABC Family, I just have one request to ask of you: please consider another season of this show. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I speak for many who would love to see at least one more season of this amazing show back on the air.
