Every generation has its rebels, its goodie two shoes, and the everyone else in between. And usually people of the previous generation see the new one as lazy or crazy with the stuff they do. So there's usually one reason for this happening,
The Generation Gap.
Yes, when there is a generation gap, the norms of one generation can be so very different from the last. And this is what creates gaps and tension between generations. As one generation truly doesn't understand what and why another generation does what it does, Or they do and don't accept it.
Take for example the new teen culture of the 1950's, people did not take kind to the new generation as it was completely different in some respects then say the generation that grew up prior to World War 2.
Another example that is more recent is the millennial generation, we are seen as lazy, rude and technologically hooked. While this is true for some of the millennial generation, which would be people born between 1980 and 2000, it can not be used to describe everyone in the generation. Sometimes young adults and teenagers can be the best at customer service or be out and about doing other things then being stuck to a computer or their phones all day.
A new generation may be different from what you would expect from yours or previous generations, but that does not automatically make that generation bad or inferior. It just means that they are different from what you're used to and that's okay, because that generation of young people might one day change the world in such a way no one ever expected. You can never really judge a generation, because its dynamics are always changing, as is technology. Every generation changes the world in some way, so will this one, whether it be for better or for worse.
