When you think about cafe girl, you imagine any girl going to a coffee shop, sipping on caramel latte while reading a good book.

Picture that, but as a logo for a new small production company in Ashland, Cafe Girl Productions.

Run by Ashland's local actress, Lia Rose Dugal, Cafe Girl Productions is a small production company where "a bunch of actors, actresses, writers, make-up artists, directors and other creative types combining forces to create quality web-series, shorts and feature films" (CGP Patron). A collaborative production with local actors, filmmakers, writers, and more! She started CGP as an idea while filming for her web series, "Homesick."

As an amateur director, I spoke and worked with Dugal about the production on the set of "Homesick." While working with a bunch of talented actors and actresses, Dugal realized, "I had some talent with this and I liked how a group of actors and crew could get together with little to nothing and make some pretty good film work." She came up with the name when she frequently visited coffee shops and they nicknamed her "Cafe Girl." Currently, CGP is working with various script writers, in talks with local directors for a feature length film, and filming a short trailer based on the book by author and Dugal's friend Catherine Hansen called "Dreamcast."

Dugal's goal for CGP is bringing actors, filmmakers, writers, and more together to create more projects and showcasing Ashland's finest talents. She sets up a patron page for CGP in order to pay expenses for anyone who is involved.

Come support this upcoming production company as they create more content and future projects! You can help them by donating to their Patron page so they can create more content and bring new talents. You can also check out their official Facebook page for updates.

We hope you'll join our incredible journey to make Cafe Girl Production a successful production company!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
