I don't know about you, but I refuse to be the girl prancing around the bar with a dainty hand, pinching the stem of a too-pink cosmo. As far as I'm concerned, if you can't kick back and sip a beer, you're seriously lacking in the chill department. Plus, I'm yet to meet a guy who's offered to "go grab a few cosmos." Maybe it is one of those "go against the norm" things, but there's nothing worse in my eyes than a drink filled with color and sugar. We all have our go-to drink preferences. For some, it is a Spiked Seltzer, for others it’s an Angry Orchard, but for me, it’s a Corona Lite. Beer for some girls just isn’t an option, but here are six reasons I think they should give it a second chance.
1. It’s cheap.
Going out can be expensive, especially when you're racking up a huge drink bill. Most restaurants don’t openly advertise the price of drinks, so when it comes time to paying the bill, you might be left with quite a surprise. However, if you love beer, this doesn’t have to be the case. Most bars have drink specials such as $2 drafts. HELL YES. I would gladly take a $2 draft over a $10 Long Island Iced tea any day of the week.
2. Brewery tours
If you're ever looking for a fun weekend activity for you and your friends, a brewery tour might be the way to go. Most brewery tours let you sample their beer afterwards, which gives you an excuse to start drinking early in the afternoon without being judged. Click here to find a brewery near you!
3. Day drinking
Darty-ing is, like, a pretty big deal. I can almost always come up with a good enough reason to darty, such as: tailgating, country concerts, baseball games, drinking games, etc. Whatever the occasion is, you drink. However, you don’t need to start your day by pounding Red Bull & Vodkas. Rather, the best way to approach a darty, in my eyes, is with beer. With beer, you never finding yourself cringing at the thought of alcohol. You are able to slug back a few cold ones with little to no effect. You can play games and chill without looking high maintenance, or too drunk to chill after just a few drinks.
4. It's low maintenance.
If you love beer, you know how to chill. You never want to be that girl at a party that won't drink a beer. Carbs will not kill you. I repeat—carbs will not kill you! You might have a temporary beer belly gut, but there are worse things in life, like be a whiny girl that can't hang. Find the perfect balance, drinking mixed drinks that are high in sugar really aren't much better for you than beer. So with that being said, pick your poison.
5. It's refreshing.
There are few better feelings than cracking open a cold beer after a long day. The cold can against your hot hands is literally therapeutic
6. There's a brew for you.
From Bud Light to Sierra Nevada, and everything else in between, it is almost impossible to say you hate beer. Unless you’re allergic to gluten, there’s got to be a brew for you. We all have that go-to beer preference—mine happens to be a Corona Lite served with extra limes.
