I know, another break-up article? Jo, aren't you over this thing? Yes, actually I am. But what I'm not over is "Hamilton" and how it is honestly the most quotable musical in the world. Go look at my Twitter, and most of my tweets are "Hamilton" quotes, and I recently I named my new car Hamilton (OK, I'm a little obsessed. But I don't care). Getting back on point, if you ever need to get through a break-up, or maybe even throw a little shade, use "Hamilton" quotes, because they spit fire and "Hamilton" is that good to listen to and quote.
When he leaves you and you don’t know what to do because you still love him...but you also want to kill him at the same time.
“I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love.” —King George III
He tells you to back off because he needs "space."
"You're on your own? Awesome. Wow." —King George III
When he’s being a whiny, little child.
“Talk less. Smile more.” —Aaron Burr
When he attempts to rake your name through the mud.
“Don’t do a thing. History will prove him wrong.” —George Washington
But your friends got you covered and stick up for you so you don't have to throw away your shot.
"Put what we had aside, I'm standing by her side. You will never be satisfied, I hope you're satisfied." —Angelica Schuyler
When you sit back and think about everything that happened and wonder if you did everything you could to save the relationship.
“Oh, let me be part of the narrative. Where you decide to stay and I could be enough. And we could be enough. That would be enough.” —Eliza Hamilton
But then you realize you did absolutely nothing wrong and you’re flawless and take control of your life.
“I’m erasing myself from the narrative. Let future historians wonder how Eliza reacted when you broke her heart.” —Eliza Hamilton
Besides, who needs a boyfriend when you have Washington on your side?
"One last time, and if we get this right we'll teach them how to say goodbye." —George Washington
Remember that "space" he talked about earlier? Yeah, he already had a new girl.
"Burn." —Eliza Hamilton
That moment he realizes he made a horrible decision and starts to crack under pressure.
“Your sentences border on senseless. And you are paranoid in every paragraph how they perceived you.” —Eliza Hamilton
Then he does something stupid and you call him out on it.
“I can almost see the headline, your career is done.” —Thomas Jefferson, James Madison
After you call him out, he does something even more stupid and now no one will take him seriously anymore.
“Well, he’s never gonna be president now.” —Thomas Jefferson
He completely destroys himself and you didn’t have to lift a finger and ultimately win the break-up.
“You got more than you gave.” —Aaron Burr
“And I wanted what I got.” —Alexander Hamilton
Next thing you know you and your friends are raising a glass to your new found freedom.
"Raise a glass to freedom!" —John Laurens
Let's be real, you didn't need that loser. You can do so much better than him.
"I'm looking for a mind at work!" —Angelica Schuyler
