What if I told you that the very things that you loved were at risk of being taken away from you? No more fresh air on your morning runs, no more tree filled landscapes in your backyard, no more fertile soil to continue your garden. And not only those things that you loved, but the things that gave you life: water, air, atmosphere, earth.

The human race is in a current state of peril. The world as you know it is claimed by the top scientists to turn into something out of a science fiction movie or even 2012. Right now, the economy is running the lifespan of the average human being. Their coercion of governments to get their way and support politicians has allowed us to receive the short end of the stick.

What even is this picture here? I'd say it's a beautiful day for air pollution... Who doesn't love being smothered by thick, grey smoke when walking in the park? I love gasping for air, it's always exciting when you can breathe in a toxin unexpectedly. Life is all about the unexpected right?

Why are we not using renewable resources? We are going to inevitably transfer over to them one day? It has its flaws, but science is improving these devices every single day. In some cases people can generate enough energy with solar power that they can sell it back to power companies. Transitioning to renewable resources will create jobs for people testing technology, installing it, regulating it and much more.

When we think of pollution we think ugly rivers, or trash filled pieces of land when sometimes the most deadly of pollution is invisible. Air pollution should be a major global concern.

Air pollution is not a singular thing, it has many facets. It is linked to increasing the speed of climate change, asthma, stroke, poor respiratory development, long cancer, acid rain and much much more. Also, if one place makes the pollution it will spread, all over the world. We share the pollution that other countries and our own dish out as well as its effects. Did you know that increasing severity of storms is linked to air pollution? Pollution in China can effect the severity of storms all the way in California, USA. Why is your health less important then some billionaire's tupperware factory? When did your livelihood become worthless instead of priceless?

There will be 8 rallies of civil disobedience all over the United States be held between May 4th-15th. We are not alone. People in Brazil, Canada, the UK, Indonesia, Nigeria, South Africa, Germany, Turkey, the Philippines, and New Zealand are all banding together to protect the only earth we got. Not for just themselves, but their families, friends, kids, grandkids, and even you; a total stranger. By recognizing the value of life, we are recognizing global unity and how we have one world we must share.

Nature, will inevitably survive and adapt over time. It is just that it will do it by eliminating us. Mother Earth does not need us to survive but we need her. Why should we let a few people dictate how we think and live because they want a third vacation home? This life is priceless, and we should all see it as such. Support your fellow humans and other creatures of the earth by joining the movement in anyway possible.
