Brady Adler is a musician. So I discovered during an impromptu interview with this Birmingham Southern College sophomore this weekend.
"It started as a demo on garage band," said Brady. His brother, who is a musician and junior at Samford University, heard the demo and wanted to recreate the song with actual instruments.
"Book Club," was the first of the brothers' singles.
"We alternate verses," Brady said. "We harmonize together on the pre-chorus and we alternate with the chorus. We used a melodica, piano, typewriter, xylophone, and a thunder tube. We banged on a suitcase for percussion."
Jake and Brady Adler come from a musical family. Their creativity is reflected in their aspirations.
"I've wanted to be a solo artist since I was about 14 years old! And I've been doing film work for a long time. I've always wanted to create music videos and produce them. Jake has always been my partner in crime when it comes to production."
Jake Adler dreams of creating music as a living, but not just witty tunes like the brother's first song, "Book Club." Jake desires to become a worship leader in the church, using his guitar and piano playing abilities. He looks up to Colony House and Josh Garrels as musical heroes.
Brady, on the other hand prefers Lorde and Bastille. He enjoys a good book and a camera to film music videos or stop motion.
While the brothers are attending two different colleges and are majoring in two different areas--Jake is majoring in worship leading, and Brady in Media and Film Studies, both brothers hope to make much more music together in the future.
