As a book nerd I spend a lot of my time with my head buried in books and I've found a few gems that everyone should read.
1. Buttermilk Hill -Ruth White
I read this in fourth grade and it's one that has always stayed in my mind. It's super sweet and will make you happy. It's all about being happy with what you have and family values.
2.It's Kind of a Funny Story -Ned Vizzini
It takes a bit to get into but this book was one with real stories and real value. Highly recommend
3. Milk and Honey -Rupi Kaur
Self Empowerment is so real with this one. I read the whole book in an hour but in genuinely made me feel better.
4. Dear Nobody: The True Diary of Mary Rose-Gillian McCain & Legs McNeil
Anyone who liked the book 13 Reasons Why will like this book. It's raw and real and an easy read.
5. The Mortal Instrument Series- Cassandra Claire
This was one of the longest series I've ever read and it is so totally worth it. It's all mystical but with so many elements it just keeps you reading.
6. The Mara Dyer Trilogy- Michelle Hodkins
This series loops perfectly and is my all time favorite. Cannot recommend enough!
7. Pretty Little Mistakes- Heather McElhatton
This is the grown up version of the Goosebump books I used to love. This one is the type of book where you choose your own ending. It's fun and doesn't read cover to cover.
8. Take Me There- Carolee Dean
Who doesn't love a good sappy love story?
