Many people set goals when the New Year rolls around. As a bookworm, one of my goals this year is to read some new books whether they came out the following year or came out a few years ago. Also, I always love reading the same books I already read before like the Harry Potter series. The reason is I like to revisit the characters and world which the characters reside in.

So, Take a look at the list of books I’m going to read during 2017!

1. The Zodiac series by Romina Russell (Zodiac, Wandering Star, Black Moon)

I just started reading the first book of this series, and I like it so far. It’s about how our zodiac signs have their own society, and apparently there was a thirteenth sign. I got interested in reading it after I saw how cool the cover was.

2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I had never read the book, but after seeing the trailer of the movie, it made me curious to read it. This book is about a girl who was in a foster home, and she stole books, so she could learn how to read. It also took place during World War II. I’m not into a lot of historical fiction books, but if there’s a time period that I’m familiar with, then I read the book that took place during that time period.

3. Doctor Who: Time Lord Fairy Tales by Justin Richards

If you like Doctor Who and fairy tales, here’s a book that has both. My boyfriend got me this book for Christmas, and I honestly can’t wait to read it. This book has different fairy tales, like "Little Red Riding Hood", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves", and many more.

4. Nicholas Sparks Books: See Me, The Best of Me, and The Choice

I haven’t read See Me and The Choice, but I will read them during 2017. I’ve read The Best of Me, and I would love to read it again as one of my re-reads.

5. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay)

Since I wasn’t able to read it during my Christmas break, but I mentioned in my article “List of Books I Might Read During My Christmas Break” that if I don’t read some of the books on the list, they will end up in my books to read during 2017.

6. Firstlife by Gena Showalter

I haven’t read this book either, but I would love to read it because the cover is very interesting and the story sounds really interesting as well. It’s about a life during the afterlife.

7. Everland by Wendy Spinale

This book is a fairy tale retelling of Peter Pan. Since I’m a big Peter Pan fan, I thought to myself “I have to read this book.” And I’m so excited to read it.

8. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter, Fairest, Stars Above)

Speaking of fairy tale retellings, this book series has different fairy tales with a science fiction twist. I got interested in reading Cinder when I first saw it, and I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not. Now, since it’s a series, I would like to read the rest of them as well.

9. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

I got interested in reading this book since I saw how awesome the cover is. The book tells the story of a girl who was kidnapped by people from this ship. I mean, when I read the plot of the book, it confused me a bit, and from the cover, it looked like a pirate ship in the reflection of the city in the bottle. Despite the confusion, I’m interested in reading it.

I would add more books to my list, but I would end up changing my mind about what I truly want to read during 2017. Anyway, I’m excited about reading the books that I have never read before, and the books that I have read before as well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
