With Halloween coming up, comes the forever agonizing question of "What is my costume this year going to be?" It has to be better than last year and has to look just as equally good as, maybe even a little better, all of your friends' costumes. But don't worry, this isn't going to be a list of good versus bad Halloween costume ideas. Instead, it's about the exact thing a lot of people tend to ignore when making the "The top ten winning Halloween costumes for your next party" lists.

Body confidence is a huge issue that both girls and boys struggle with every day like a bad routine. This only worsens for some people around the time Halloween approaches.

I know for me, personally, picking out that perfect costume is so nerve-racking.

Like, of course, I'd rather go as a sexy witch, but that bodysuit is too...much for me. Or the low cut styled costumes for most females are too revealing for girls who would rather not show that much of themselves. The pressure and want to buy (and make) certain costumes is strong, but the fear of seeing your body in such a way is frightening for some who struggle with their confidence levels.

Of course, your friends will always tell you how gorgeous or handsome you look anyway. "Just go out in this dress!" Or "Why don't you show yourself off a little more; you have a great body!" Or "Don't be such a prude, live a little." When in reality, you see yourself differently than how your friends see you.

This is the biggest issue for people who struggle with body confidence and it's hard to break out of the mindset of those thoughts and images.

The pressure to find a costume that's both flattering and comfortable is constantly overlooked and sometimes individuals like this will just go without one.

Now I am speaking to these individuals that struggle with this body confidence. I understand how hard it is. I understand what it's like to look into the mirror and see a version of yourself no one else does. But Halloween is a time to pretend for just one night, that you're someone else, and sometimes this helps with your levels of confidence. Putting on costumes like a sexy vampire, Wonder Woman, or even your favorite "Walking Dead" zombie is sometimes the most empowering feeling of all. Whatever clothing or costume makes you feel good about yourself and how you look, wear it more often, stand up straight, and just keep smiling. Staying positive and rocking your confident costume will skyrocket your body confidence and make every day easier and brighter.

Look in the mirror; smile. Because you are you. You were built this way for a reason. You are strong, beautiful, and confident.

You can work anything or any costume you want to show off this year.

Don't be afraid to be one hundred percent authentically you this Halloween and remember you only live once, so why not live happily!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
