Pop Matters

Bo Burnham is a comedian and recently released his new show on Netflix. He is common in the millennial generation because he is also our age. He gained his fanbase on Youtube and later signed to a bigger label. While being funny, he makes jabs at current issues such as homosexuality, religion and popular music. So, here is an incomplete list of the times Bo Burnham actually made solid points about life today.

1. “Repeat Stuff” from what.

This song pokes fun at the music industry and specifically their love songs and that they have no substance.

4. "From God's Perspective"

The song questions using God as your reason to be a good person and the idea that waiting for heaven is dumb when you can make your life on earth enjoyable.

3. “We Think we Know you” from what.

This song talks about how we assume that we know famous people when in reality that is only a persona they put out to the world.

4. Parent Approval Jokes throughout what. and make happy.

Bo constantly jokes about his parents thinking he is too flamboyant.

5. Objectifying People

In make happy. someone yells, “take your pants off” to which Bo gives a quick lesson on how objectifying people is wrong.

6. “Rant” from Words Words Words

This song or rap criticises the inconsistencies in the Catholic religion.

7. “Repeat Stuff” once again

Bo at it again with this song from what. criticises the magazine industry and the expectations they give girls to live up to

8. “Straight White Male” from make happy.

It's a very sarcastic song that argues that straight white men have minimal problems in comparison to everyone else.

9. “Lower Your Expectations” from make happy.

This song talks about the impossible expectations people have for their significant other.

10. “Lower Your Expectations” again…

Later in the song, he sings that everyone deserves love so we will all “suck less.”

11. “Little Tea Pot” from make happy.

This song is a direct jab at the hip hop industry and the recent structure in that they only want a “sick beat” and do not care about the lyrics.

12. “Pandering” from make happy.

This song on the other hand pokes fun at the country industry for using the same key phrases in every song without really experiencing the country lifestyle.

13. “Auto Tuned Rant” from make happy.

This song also talks about Bo’s first world problems but then gets deeper and discusses his real problem being the audience and his need to please them but also speak his mind.

14. A monologue from make happy.

Bo talks about why he believes social media is so important to our generation and gives the millennial some credit to always wanting to have an audience and shares that the constant need for an audience was how we we raised.

While you may not think Bo is very funny, he does bring up some good points in his songs and stand up shows.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
