We all know it: high school sucked. In every possible way, college is so much better. You get to live with your best friends, eat whatever and whenever you want, and the weekend starts on Thursday. But there are a few things you miss about high school: easier classes, home cooking, and your mom doing your laundry. But when it comes to breaks, though, college reigns supreme over high school, especially winter break. Winter break in college is relaxing, fun, and totally needed. Read on for more reasons why Winter Break in college is so blissful.

1. You have zero stress.

Literally none. There’s no work due when you come back, no tests to study for, nothing. This may just be the best Christmas present ever.

2. Family time is more valuable.

When you haven’t spent much real time with your family for four-ish months, it really can be relaxing to spend time with them. Nothing is scary and new with them, and you can go back to living in an oblivious state without too many responsibilities for the month. Give em a hug and watch a movie together while you can.

3. You can sleep, all day, every day, multiple times a day.

And it’s totally justified. “Amy, why haven’t we seen John lately? Isn’t he home from school?” “Yes, but he’s recovering from finals week, so we’re letting him sleep it off.”

4. It’s a whole freaking month off.

Forget the crummy two or three weeks you got off in high school. Winter break in college is a wonderful joy-filled month of relaxation. Go ahead, do a happy dance or two.

5. The world is your Christmas-filled oyster.

Remember all those holiday activities you never had time for in high school? Now is the time perfect time. Go ice skating, read a book by the fire, make cookies, drive around and see Christmas lights, watch a movie marathon on ABC Family, decorate the tree and your entire house while you’re at it. Heck, do them all and more! It’s Christmas time!

6. Showering without shoes for a whole incredible month.

Now this is bliss. Throw in the fact that you don’t have to share the shower with 20 other people, fantastic water pressure, and the option to take a bath, and you may never leave the bathroom.

7. You get to hang out with your friends from home for a month.

You may have briefly seen them over Thanksgiving break, but winter break allows you to get your squad back together and share every funny, embarrassing, and fantastic moment of the last four months.

8. Visiting your high school teacher to prove you’re not a screwup.

Your high school chemistry teacher that basically said you would never make it in college? Brag about your stellar grade on the chem final at school. Or go see that teacher that never gave up on you and thank them for their help. They’ll love to here that.

9. Christmas gifts are incredibly useful for once.

What do college students want for Christmas? Money. Don’t know what to get a college student? Money. What could your college student use? Money. Or underwear and socks. Our lives basically revolve around late night food and putting off laundry, so both are great options.

10. You can finally make bank again.

Hellloooo, a full month of working! You can finally get some money flowing in so you don’t feel like you’re freeloading off your parents. And your late night Jimmy John’s order will be more justified if you have more than $50 in your bank account left.

11. The holidays have a new meaning.

Take a look around at the people your surround yourself while you’re home. They most likely make your holiday season truly special. Appreciate everything you get to do on winter break and take a breather. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
