I am not really into watching television shows, even if they are on Netflix. I find that it is too distracting for me to have a new show to watch because I would much rather watch the TV show than do my homework. So to say that I have a new show to watch is a big deal for me. I started watching the newest series to hit NBC over fall break and I have to say, I will never look back.
"Blindspot" stars Jaime Alexander as Jane Doe. She is called Jane Doe because they actually don't know who this woman is. Jane Doe wakes up with amnesia in the middle of Times Square, her skin covered in tattoos and a sign signaling those that find her in Times Square to "contact the FBI."
OK, pause, how cool is that to begin with?
After that, you realize Jane Doe must have been connected to the government in some sort of way. Her tattoos are clues that lead her to different people or different government operations. When the FBI brings her on to investigate where her tattoos lead, they quickly discover that she is kind of a badass. She fights bad guys and works a machine gun with ease. Which brings the audience to wonder, who is she really? She could easily have been a good person before her memory was wiped, but with her extensive knowledge with weapons, what if she wasn't?
With only a few episodes to start this new series, it is easy to get caught up. The show also stars an FBI agent, played by Sullivan Stapleton, whose name is tattooed on Jane Doe's back and seems to have an eerie connection with Doe. Along with this agent is another who is there for comic relief and brainy connections; those who are fans of Abby from "NCIS" or Penelope from "Criminal Minds" would truly enjoy her character. The show also stars the head of the FBI who seems to have a shady background and a slight apprehension to Jane Doe because of all of the governmental secrets that cover her tattooed body.
Overall, the show is amazing and leaves me at the edge of my seat each time. Like I said, there are only a few episodes in the series so far, so it'd be easy to catch up if you started watching now. It is also easy to stay involved with the series because it will only be coming on a weekly basis so you don't feel the need to watch 10 episodes a day. I can't say enough good things about this show, and it has already started quite a following. Monday nights from 10 to 11, you know where I will be.
