We are instructed to have faith in a God who we cannot physically see; however, my faith in God is not blind because I have seen His faithfulness in my past. I am not blindly trusting my Savior whom I call on always. He has not left me waiting or wondering. My life, that I have laid in my Heavenly Father's hands, is not left up to chance and I am not fearful of where He leads me. My God, our God, smiles and cheers with me when I open myself up to His blessings and life because He has goodness and wonders in store. Although I sometimes still find myself looking to this world for guidance, I am quickly drawn back to Jesus's gaze for He points to a life that is everlasting and joyful. He has shown me glimpses of Himself and proven to me His promises and truths more times than I have even asked of Him. He does not hold back the beauty of His Holy Spirit or His kindness, grace, and generosity. He has provided and cared for me so consistently and faithfully. My faith is rooted in My Savior's voice, His truth and His peace, His love and His joy, His plan and His action; my faith is not blind.
Just this past week or so, for reasons unknown, Jesus has opened my eyes as He revealed several promised and faithful movements in my life. Impatience can be such a powerful obstruction in fruitful trust with Jesus, but He warns against a fickle heart and wavering faith. God does not work on deadline; His works and goodness are not bound by our earthly time clock. Personally, I have been praying for Jesus to reveal Himself to a couple people that I love so, so much, and to bring life into those relationships. It has been a looong time coming... years... I have learned, the hard way, that there is only so much I can do. Period. I believe God has a plan for every single person in this world- all of His children, His beloved. He makes all things work together for our good and the good of the Kingdom while bringing salvation and restoration to our hearts. But, His will be done in His perfect timing. I have waited patiently for Jesus to move in certain areas of my life. I can't say that I haven't tried to do it on my own, lost heart, or asked a million questions(and for quick result). But I can say, through His comfort and reassurance, that Jesus holds true to His promises. All He asks is that we remain patient and faithful. I feel that patience is a hard element to rest in, yet God has always come through in perfect timing even if I had expected different at one time.
My Creator and King has proven His love and good intention for me over and over again (He knows my heart needs it too). I have grown to trust Him with my life- my whole life. It has taken me a while to get to a point of faithful belief and relentless dependence and I will continue to grow stronger in that. When we go to Jesus for direction and ask for His will to be done, He will offer us abundant and eternal life- Glory be to God for all of the blessings and light He brings into our lives! The Holy Spirit has been speaking into me this week that there is no fruit in blind faith and that we have no grounds for doubt. Our Heavenly Father never promised us easy life or smooth sailing for all of our days, but He did promise/promises that He will carry us through any storm that may come. He will hold our hands when we are scared, dance with us when we celebrate, cry with us when we are sad, comfort us through nerves, and stand up on our behalf. When we live in the warmth of Jesus's light, there is nothing to fear. There is an attestation to the joy and life He endlessly pours out onto those who follow Him. As a result of The Lord's goodness and faithfulness, my faith in Him and His plan is not blind.
"Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you have planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare." Psalms 40:5
