There were plenty of reasons we all wanted to be Blair Waldorf. But let's face it; right at the top of that list was her rules of attire.
Leggings are not pants. No matter how much people may try to mask them with long shirts, they are not pants. Pants require zippers and pockets, and leggings don’t have those.
Gathering fashion inspiration and then mimicking it from your favorite classic movies is completely acceptable. Who wouldn’t want to dress like they were staring in Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Thelma & Louise?
Wearing a cape is always acceptable. Bright colored or shades of camel, wear it everyday. Regular coats are never as fashionable anyway.
Headbands are always chic and classic. While the majority of us stopped wearing headbands in eighth grade, Blair taught us that idea was silly and we should wear them all the time.
Even if you aren’t royalty you can pretend to be by wearing a fancy hat. It does not have to be a special occasion to sport such a look.
Always coordinate, even your athletic wear. You can match your shoes with your latest handbag or you dress with your bike to
Tweed is forever. Whether it is a Chanel tweed suit or an old skirt of your grandmother’s, it will never fade to a fashion faux pas. In fact, if you ever wanting to invest in a great piece, I suggest investing in something that has an accent or is completely consumed with tweed.
You can always mix in some animal print, even if it is full on cheetah print shift with matching belt and collar. Remember that Gucci shift?
If you are going to wear UGGS, make sure they are from a collaboration of the best designers and don’t pair them with shorts. Blair showed us that if you are going to wear those boots, they must be studded or accented with something chic.
You can wear pastels no matter what is in season. This is my favorite fashion tip from Blair because pastels never fail to make an outfit look elegant.
