The Truth about the movement

Black Lives Matter Is A New Terrorist Group?
Andy Marlette

Many people have started to label Black lives Matter as a racist, terrorist group. There is even a petition to get the organization to be considered a terrorist group. I'm here to tell you to ignore that petition because that is simply not the truth.

A Racist is by definition - a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.

Terrorism is by definition - the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

Black Lives Matter is by definition a chapter-based national organization working for the VALIDITY of Black life. And is working to (re)build the Black LIBERATION movement.

Now that we know the definitions, lets start with the racist claims. How does an organization trying to get others to see the validation in a race's life feel their superior or even inferior for that matter. The truth is BLM knows that black lives are equal to all lives. They do not feel black lives are inferior or superior but equal.

I know some may ask if they believe that all lives are equal, why not just say All Lives Matter. BLM was created after the killing of Trayvon Martin as a response to issues black people have been facing in everyday life for years. Quite frankly no one ever said All Lives Matter when these incidents happened. No one says ALM to express support for the families and lives being taken. ALM is only a repose to BLM and a way to further divide American citizens.

Next: debunking the terrorist claims. The majority of these claims came after the tragedy that occurred in Dallas. My heart goes out to those officers and their families just like the families of all the black men unjustly being killed. With that being said, the Dallas shooter was not a member of BLM. In my opinion, the shooter suffered from mental illness after being discharged but we may never know. What We do know is that he was not a member of BLM and didn't support it. He even stated he was "upset" with the organization.

BLM supporters use non violent protests like marches, rallies, and boycotts to get their points across. Not once has BLM ever promoted violence as a way to liberation.

The KKK on the other hand is historically known for being violent (Terrorists). Members believe The White race is superior to all races (Racism). But, When they decide to meet in a public place or hand out fliers all anyone ever responds with is "we have the freedom of speech." If that is the truth why are you trying to silence the BLM movement?

In fact, BLM supporters are urging people to buy from black owned stores and companies. Even to move $100 dollars from your bank to a black owned one. Some specific companies being boycotted include : Coca Cola, Target, Chick-fil-A, and Nestle.

These actions may hurt some pockets but they will not terrorize anyone. Bottom line is BLM does not promote violence or terrorism, the organization is actually fighting against just that.

Black Lives Matter has continued to grow since its been established and won't be going away anytime soon no matter how many petitions are signed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
