So, as usual, I'm a little late to the party.

Everyone else has known about this forever, but I just found this new thing, and I have to say, I'm obsessed with it.

It's 'Bitmoji.'

Kind of like "emoji." Like the faces I use in every. single. text message. But more personalized. Meet my bitmoji:

I'd say we bear a rather striking resemblance to one another, don't you think?

And making demands with (my future) puppy:

Asking the important questions in life:

And spotting a cute puppy or baby:

And telling a special someone how much I love him:

Honestly, how were we ever texting without Bitmoji? A picture is truly worth a thousand words when it's a picture of you flying on a rocket ship back from the moon.

Bitmoji actually stems from an application called "Bitstrips," which launched 2007. According to the Bitstrips Wikipedia page, in 2016, Snapchat purchased Bitstrips--and the application did not have a cheap price tag. The deal cost Snapchat 100 Million dollars, which might seem excessive to some, but given the popularity of Bitmoji, likely seems like a worthwhile investment for Snapchat.

The way Snapchat ties in Bitmoji is especially appealing. Download Bitmoji and log in with your snapchat account, and your Bitmoji becomes accessible not just through text messages but also through snapchat.

So your avatar that was once flying across the page in a rocket ship? Now flies across your snap. Or perches on the edge of your coffee mug. Or peeks out from a corner of the screen.

And in an age of evolving technology and endless creativity, personalization matters. And so the more you can customize something, the greater it becomes.

So now, not only has Bitmoji created a revolution in texting, but it's also upped everyone's Snapchat game.

However, Bitmoji isn't something you can really enjoy unless you experience it yourself, take it from me.

So don't be too proud to jump onto this bandwagon because it is well worth it.

Texting will never be the same and neither will the snaps you send. Say goodbye to ordinary emojis and get ready to embrace Bitmojis.
