A Birthday Wish To The Most Amazing Woman In My Life
Jessica Fisher

Happy birthday, Mom, I hope that today is everything that you dreamed it would be. You are not only an amazing mom, but you are our biggest fan and supporter. You encourage us to follow our dreams and chase after everything we want in life. You always tell us that we can be whatever it is in life that we want to be. You seem to have our best interest at heart no matter what.

You are always there for us even when we do not agree or we make you mad. We can call you no matter what, and you always have the best advice for us. You help us get through any problem from school to real-life problems. Even when we don't feel like we are, you tell us that we are the smartest people in the world. You not only support us, but you are always there for our friends when they need you. Our friends can call you in the middle of the night and no matter the problem you are going to help. There were plenty of nights when you went out and brought them back home to your house. You are always there to lend a helping hand when someone needs you. If one of your friends need you to take care of them or their family, you are going to help in any way possible.

You have no problem stepping up and taking care of my nieces and nephews, so your kids can help the life that you think they deserve. When your daughters came to you and said they wanted to go back to work you did not hesitate to take of the kids. You knew without your love and support they would not be able to do it without you. You've always put your kids above yourself and now you put your grandkids above you too.

There is nothing that the kids are doing that you will not be there to support and cheer them on. You are always excited to see what they are doing and where they are headed in life. You do not miss a chance to spoil or spend time with your grandkids (even if the boys are thousands of miles away).

You always make people feel warm and accepted. So it is no wonder that there is no one that you cannot talk to. You have taught me to accept everyone for who they are. You told us that it does not matter what the person looks like on the outside, the only thing that matters is their heart. We can't judge someone by their looks, only by the content of their heart and spirit.

You have shown us that everyone deserves respect even if it doesn't feel like they are giving her the same respect. You have lived the example of the kind of person that you want your kids and grandkids to be. For that, we thank you and want to wish you a happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, Mom!!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
