Bingeworthy Review: Trailer Park Boys

The trailer park boys. Okay this Canadian mockumentary about three friends living in a trailer park is actually an old show. You have more than likely heard of it or seen it on your Netflix Que. It’s been around for 16 or so years. The best word to describe it, is f**ked. Honestly. there’s not much I can say about this show. But I have to turn in a five hundred word article so I guess I’m going to have to try and expand my opinions for this terrible show.

There are a couple reasons why I think this show is between the lines of god-awful, and a complete disgrace. For starters, the language is just unnecessarily, unforgivingly, and repeatedly foul. The characters swear nearly forty times a minute. Every other word is either “f**k” or “s**t” (I’m censoring my own f-bombs because I’m not entirely sure I’m allowed to swear on Bingeworthy Reviews, Sponsored by Odyssey. And honestly, swearing in such a reputable publication, is fucking beneath me.)

The characters are also overwhelming stupid, in terms of IQ. It makes fun of all the stereotypes a rich person would have about the bottom 90%, #HelpUsBernie. The stupidity is almost bordering children’s cartoon dumb. Not to mention the characters are just as violent. Guns are a main part of the show. I know in a red state like South Dakota I’m not appealing to a lot of people when I say, “I think they there’s too many guns on this show.” But really the casual manner in which they use these guns is a little unnecessary.

But hey if you’re okay with the guns, maybe you’d be okay with the excessive use of drugs and alcohol. Breaking the law, and committing crimes is a main plot point in this show. Every episode the characters are either smoking weed, drinking heavily, or breaking the law. The worst part of it all is that it glamorizes all of it. Any time I watch this show, all I want to do is get wasted, smoke a blunt, and rob someone’s trailer. I think that’s the worst part of the show. Trailer park boys really encourages poor, deplorable behavior. It’s a really bad show for anyone morally right.

Then again, you guys are a bunch of college students in a boring town. So I guess watch the show. It's actually not half bad. I enjoy a lot of the ridiculous comedy, featured in the show. I just remembered my favorite line, (which I’m totally going to start quoting more, especially when I start drinking more liquor and inject marijuanas1) “I am the liquor.” I don’t know why I like this line, but I’m sure if you watch it you might find something good.

As a writer, with possible impressionable readers, I do not condone the actions performed on this show. Excessive drinking, drug use, and criminal activity are all bad things that no one should do. However, its kinda funny when these characters do it. I know I pretty much through the entirety of Trailer Park Boys under the bus, but who knows you might like it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
