Bingeworthy Review: Heroes season 1

I’m not great at reviewing new shows. I sometimes get on top of things with shows like flaked, stranger things, and Bojack horseman. However, I sometimes get into old shows, whether it’s the first time I’m seeing the show, or if I’ve been re-binging some favorite shows. For this review, I’m focusing a show that falls in the former category. In fact, it’s going to be a four part review because the series is so long. I’ve only just finished the first season actually, but I’m pretty much hooked on it. So let’s review a show for good old 2006, Heroes.

I’m not sure where to begin with this review. Everyone has either seen Heroes, or know the basic idea of it. But just in case I’ll give you low down of the show to the best of my abilities. The year is 2007, and several people around the world have discovered that they have a special power. Each person can do something incredible. A New York man discovers he can fly, a Japanese business worker stops time, drug addicted artist can paint the future, and A cheerleader finds she can’t die. Meanwhile, a geneticist in India tries to bring them together, while a psychopathic man tries to tear them apart. But like not in the same sense. Like, he literally tears these people apart. It’s sick.

You may feel as though I have given a lot of spoilers in that last paragraph, but you pretty much find out about that shit like first episode. (Can I even say, “shit” on here?). And all that I can possible spoiler for you is in the first season so I don’t see the harm. Anyways, one of the big things I’ve noticed about in heroes, (at least in the first season) is that it has this wonderful “X-Men” feel to it. It is especially feel like the “master mold” storyline. The only difference is that this version of professor Xavier is a handsome Indian geneticist, instead of a “Bald Heaven’s gate-looking mother-f&$ker.” (deadpool.2016)

I can’t imagine watching this show one episode oat a time. First of all, there is like six stories going on in each episode. Some of the stories are conducive to a singular storyline, while other feel boorish and out of place. It’s definitely a show one should binge watch. The writing is decent for a show that have any connection to classic comic book superheroes. Ive heard that the show is coming back after being off the air for some 5 odd years I think. Itll be interesting to see how it holds up against actual comic super hero shows that have devout followers.

Heroes is a show about people finding out who they are. I guess. I don’t know I’m late on this article and I have my mind elsewhere. Basically if you like drama over action, enjoy Zachary Quinto or a fan of xmen I think you should fin your way to watching this show. Its pretty slow but it has a lot of great characters.

Score: 3.5/5

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
