The Biltmore Estate, which expands about 8,000 acres, is located in Asheville, North Carolina. Built by George Vanderbilt, this house is the largest private home owned in the United States. From November 3 to January 6, the Biltmore estate is open for a Christmas celebration.

The Audio Tour

Even though there is an option for a self-guided tour, by choosing the audio tour, you are given a remote. This remote allows for someone to choose a number that correlates to the room they are in, and hear the history behind the room. This is a great option for people to learn about the house and all the day-to-day happenings.

Lights

During Christmas time, the Biltmore Estate does not miss out on the Christmas spirit! The property is littered with sparkling, white lights. This is a great opportunity to take pictures or to just take in the beauty of the lights.

Winery Tour

The winery is located in the Antler Hill Village on the Biltmore estate. Guests may come to have a tour of the winery to learn the history behind it, learn how it's created, and to even have a taste test at the end. This is a great experience for any wine lovers!

 Christmas Tree Overload

To stay in the Christmas spirit, the Biltmore estate has 55 Christmas trees decorated around the house. One of the biggest and most elaborate tree resides in the dining room. This tree has 500 ornaments, 500 lights, and 500 presents, which is how George Vanderbilt would have decorated the tree. These trees show a lively, fun spirit throughout the house that everyone can enjoy.

Shopping

Another one of the many things to do on the Biltmore estate is to go shopping! Multiple shops that feature anything from candy, to wine, to souvenirs allows for anyone to find something they like!

Restaurants on the Estate

If you ever get hungry while visiting the Biltmore estate, don't worry! There are multiple restaurants that are on the estate that allows for anyone to satisfy your hunger. One of my favorite is Cedric's Tavern, which is named after the family's beloved dog.

Hotels on the Estate

On the estate, 3 hotels welcome guests to stay. By being able to stay at one of the hotels, guests will be able to be submersed into the spirit of the Biltmore house!

If you're looking for a new adventure that can accommodate any age, check out visiting the Biltmore house in Asheville, North Carolina for a great time!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
