With all this political talk regarding how to make America great again, I am pretty sure Bill Nye is the solution.
Okay, let’s get serious: who doesn’t remember being forced to watch "Bill Nye The Science Guy" videos in school? You know, the ones that started with that obnoxious guy’s voice shouting “Bill! Bill Bill!” over and over again. In case you somehow forgot, or don’t know what I’m talking about, here you go:
If you didn’t sing along to that, I’m disappointed in you.
If you were like me, the only good thing about watching these videos in class was not having to hear your teacher talk, but oh, how the tables have turned. Now, I can’t get enough of Bill Nye’s videos. However, it’s not his Disney videos that I am referring to.
The one’s I am referring to are aimed towards a more adult audience, unlike the ones we are used to. For those of you who live in a hole, you may have missed this pretty awesome video going around on Facebook where Bill scientifically breaks down women’s rights on abortion. Although the video is about a year old, with all the current controversy on the topic it is more relevant than ever. If you haven’t seen it before, you should check it out now.
That video is a part of an online series called Tuesday’s With Bill, and it even uses the nifty little hashtag #TuesdaysWithBill for people to submit questions for Bill to answer. The series can be found on Big Think’s YouTube page.
According to their website, Big Think “is the leading source of expert-driven, actionable, educational content—with thousands of videos, featuring experts ranging from Bill Clinton to Bill Nye, we help you get smarter, faster. We aim to help you explore the big ideas and core skills that define knowledge in the 21st century, so you can apply them to the questions and challenges in your own life,” which is pretty great if you ask me.
In case you didn’t figure it out by now, Bill is pretty awesome. If you still don’t think so, just look how many fucks he very clearly does not give while he is reading these mean tweets people posted about him. He really just doesn’t care what people have to say about him.
And he just rocks the bow ties, doesn’t he?
If the 40 something videos on Big Think’s YouTube are not enough to satisfy your scientific curiosity, don’t panic. There is plenty more videos out there, like this one where he debates Ken Ham on the likelihood of Noah’s Ark actually being a thing.
Oh, and by the way, you can watch all of the Bill Nye The Science Guy videos from his website, www.billnye.com. You’re welcome. Unfortunately, the store on his website isn’t complete, so you can’t go forth and order your Bill Nye apparel just yet, but you hang in there. It won’t be long before you can start displaying your inner nerd.
