In a small town it can be hard to see the treasure you have. On weekends, you go to the nearest city, go out to eat and shop. Do we realize what treasure we have? In the town I'm from, we have a gas station/ deli. We have an elementary school, post office and churches on every corner. No red lights, and just recently a dollar store decided to slide in. We look at all of the things we have and don't have and we decide that it's a bad thing to live in a small town.
We have big treasures in a small town. In a big city, your neighbor don't know your name. Here, if your 'mamma' is sick, everyone in the town is asking about her. In a big city, people don't buy your dinner, but here Mr. Jones always buys someone's dinner on Sundays. When the local farmers get their crop, you can count that some of it will be for sale pretty cheap at the store up town. In a small town, you know everyone. That can be a bad thing, but mostly it's good. In a small town, you'll say you're gonna leave. You'll graduate high school with plans to never come back. In five years, you'll be back to the place you grew up. You'll be a part of a town that not only make a huge impact on you, but everyone that grows up there.
When you grow up in a small town, you automatically assume that it is a bad thing, but in reality, you have big treasures in a small town.
