To all those who have impacted my life, but do not know they did. Here is my salute to you and a huge thank you. You do not always get the credit you deserve, and are rarely thanked for all you do.
My Professors
All college students know you will not like every professor you have, but each and everyone shapes you in a different way. My favorite Professor is still (and possibly always) Dr. Joseph. He taught my Foundations of Education class. When I was about to give up on my dream you helped me find my love again. Teaching is not for the money, but it is a calling. Even though I did not enjoy every professor I sat under, they all taught me something about college and myself as a student.
My Parents
I do not thank you enough, and I do not always listen to your advice. I owe you more than I could ever repay, but you never keep tabs. You have shaped me into who I am today, and no matter how many times I mess up you will always support me. Not everyone has their parents right by their side like I do. I have taken advantage of y’all at times, but I love you still. If you haven’t already and you are able, go hug your mama.
My Coworkers
I work at Chick-fil-A, and let me tell you I work with some of the greatest humans ever. Sometimes we do not mean it when we say “my pleasure,” but for the most part if the guests are happy then we are happy. My coworkers will stay hours after their shift is open just to make sure everyone has everything they need and everything is stocked for the next shift to come in. Thank you for covering my shifts when I couldn’t get off, for making tea when I was busy, and for constantly getting ice for everyone.
Transit Drivers
Whether it is the AU Trojan Transit or the electric city transit, a big thanks to the men and women who get Anderson residents where they need to go. A huge thank you specifically to the AU Transit driver CH. If you go to Anderson, you know who I am talking about. CH remembers everyone’s name that rides the transit (tries at least). CH is one of the many reasons I love Anderson.
My Church
They stand by my side through thick and thin. They pray with me to help get me through every situation. My church family is so much more than a congregation of believers; they are my support system. I could not ever turn my back on them, because they would not turn their back on me. Not everyone can relate, because not everyone has had a great church. Once you find your church you know it is special. To my church: thank you for all that you have done for and with me. I have a great family, but you have become my second family. I love each and everyone of you. Thank you for all you do.
