Bible Verses to Turn to in a rough Patch

Turn to God when things get hard, don't take it on alone.

Bible Verses to Turn to in a rough Patch
Kenley Logan

Every once in a while, everyone hits a rough patch in life. Whether it's in the workplace, in a relationship, school, or whatever else that might be on your plate. The best way to handle hard times is to turn to God and let him help you through it. In my devotion the other night, it talked about how we will always need God no matter how much we think we can handle the pressure and circumstances on our own. We have no reason to carry extra weight on our shoulders so here are some verses to help you understand that God is always there for you.

Psalm 34:17 When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Isaiah 40:31But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint

Joshua 1:9have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord you God will be with you wherever you go.

Psalm 46:1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Timothy 1:7 For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Psalm 55:22Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Philippians 4:6-7Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.

When you are holding onto all of the extra weight of obstacles in life, it keeps you from running your race well. Whether it is physical or mental, having too much on your plate really can get you down in a bog. So, turn your troubles over to God, open your bible, get out of your Spiritual Funk and live a little happier!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
