So, we have reached that point in the year, the Holiday break is coming to an end, but the next semester of college is just getting ready to begin. It's easy to feel stressed about going back. Yes, it's exciting, but it also puts a lot of pressure on us as students, and young adults, especially young adults who follow Christ. We feel pressure from family about our "five year plan", and finding "the one." We think about those things too, but it feels like a 50 pound weight sitting on my chest. I quite often find myself wondering if I am doing what God wants me to be doing, and if I am where He wants me to be. I often feel like I am unworthy, and less than. But the great thing about the Father is that He meets us in those places. Here are some verses that prove that:
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
Isaiah 43:19
" See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Isaiah 41:10
"Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Psalm 23:4
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff they comfort me."
Psalm 139:14
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Song of Solomon 4:7
" You are altogether beautiful my darling, there is no flaw in you."
Psalm 46:5
"God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day."
Jeremiah 31:3
"The Lord appeared to us in the past saying 'I have loved you, with an everlasting love; I have drawn to you with unfailing kindness.'"
Romans 8: 31; 35; 37-39
"What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us who can be against us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship, or persecution, or danger, or sword? NO, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced, that neither death, nor life, neither angels, nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God."
I hope you find these verses as comforting as I have throughout the semester. You are not alone.
