Beyonce is actually a perfect human being. I have never been more impressed by an artist. Beyonce’s Formation concert was incredible and I wish I could see it again. On Friday I got the opportunity to see her live at Gillette Stadium.
Lemonade was her main focus throughout the performance. She took a lot from the visual album and worked it into her stage setup. There was a huge cube that had thousands of screens on it. It turned throughout the whole performance and displayed different visuals from Beyonce on stage to her personal home videos. My favorite was when she showed videos of her wedding and of Blue Ivy.
She glided across the stage through the whole night without missing a note. I was mesmerized by her ability to hold notes that seemed like forever. At one point the crowd went insane when she hit a high note and I felt chills run through my body. I don’t know how she was able to sing that well and slay at her dancing. She was very generous to the audience and had us sing along to her hits. She would give the crowd her microphone to sing known parts of her song. At one point the crowd did so well at singing "Love On Top" that she looked at us as if she was impressed.
Not to mention, Beyonce’s backup dancers were perfectly in sync with her. Some were able to dance on wired cubes in the air. I was so nervous that they would fall because they had high heels on while performing on the thin wire. It was pretty incredible to see them hold their balance. Towards the end of the concert the performers were playfully dancing in a shallow pool at the end of the stage. It was exciting to see the hair flips and kicks in the water. I was not expecting Beyonce to have a pool as a part of her set.
Another impressive moment was Beyonce's band. During costume changes, women would perform solos on drums and guitars. The crowd went wild absolutely wild. The women played so hard that you could see the sweat dripping off their faces.
I couldn’t help but be obsessed with the costumes. My favorite outfit that Beyonce wore was her red latex suit with a red fur coat. Her backup dancers also had a similar look with the red latex. Its hard to believe that Beyonce ever had a child because she looked incredible in her outfits. Other outfits involved a lot of sheer fabric and ruffles. Everything she wore looked stunning and I wish I could pull it off myself.
Overall Beyonce did something great for me that night. She built my inner strength and taught me to never back down. I loved how she empowered everyone with her performance. She is full of beauty and resilience. Thank you for the exciting concert Beyonce, please come again!
