My friend and I recently decided that we were going to film our own version of Beyonce’s 7/11 music video, and this is what we learned throughout this process. It is hard AF. The choreograph for 7/11 music video does not look complex at all, but it is quite deceiving.

There are specific techniques that Beyonce uses that makes her dance moves flow throughout the video. It makes it look like that a beginner dancer could do this. Yes, I’m sure that anyone with a dancing background could pull off these moves easily, but I have not done dance in about 10 years, which makes this whole process complex. In the first 10 seconds of the video Beyonce does some complex foot work that looks like she’s just putting one foot in front of another. In reality, she is thrusting her feet first, and then putting them in front of each other. At the same time she is doing synchronized arm movements. It took me three hours to learn 10 seconds of foot work. I am horrible at multitasking and this was my complete nightmare. Then, there’s arm thrusting that occurs in the beginning of the video. When you first see it, it looks easy enough, and it was, but there’s a specific beat that it comes in on. If you are like me and have no sense of rhythm, it’s confusing as fuck. When I am talking about the choreography it may sound like I am talking about the entire video, but in reality I am only talking about the first 45 seconds.

The most interesting part of this entire video is that she is actually not doing that much dancing. In total she is doing about a minute of dancing. The directors of the video took bits and pieces of the video and mashed it all together to make it flow. This makes complete sense considering how exhausting the choreography is. This has probably been the biggest workout I have ever done in my life. Considering how Beyonce basically does this on a daily basis, bless her soul. Overall, no matter what Beyonce looks fly as hell in that video, and so will I. But I still have learn two more minutes of choreography.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
