Can you be content with your life but be evolving as a person at the same time? Absolutely. Too often, we will become content with our lives and then slowly start to fall into a funk where we are unhappy with where we are at. Start with these steps to make sure you never reach that funk!

1. Eliminate the negatives

Easier said than done, I know. But, first, start with yourself. Positive thinking goes a long way once you start doing, so you won't even be able to tolerate the negative energy.

2. Compliment yourself

Conceited? No. How you talk to yourself is the key to your self-esteem. The more you boost yourself up the harder it will be for others to bring you down.

3. Work out

This is not only helping you physically but mentally too. Dedicate two days out of your week to do something active you will be amazed at how wonderful you feel.

4. Meditate

You might be thinking what does meditation have to do with any of this? Believe it or not, meditation can release the many stresses making you feel refreshed. It also allows you to feel more connected with yourself. Too often we lose sight of that, why not reconnect?

5. Learn to say no

If you're like me, you can never say no because you're afraid of letting anyone down. Say it. If you pile too much on your plate, most likely you won't be happy with the outcome anyways, so go with your gut instinct and a better opportunity will come your way.

6. Forgive yourself

Bad grade on an exam? Went over your budget for the week? That's okay. The only way we can learn is by making mistakes. Either way, life is going to move forward, might as well be in a positive direction.

7. Forgive others

You cannot control others but, you can control yourself. Holding a grudge will only throw off your energy. Learn to forgive and let go; you will only see benefits from it.

8. Step out of your comfort zone

How am I going to be the best version of myself if I'm out of my comfort zone? That's exactly why you're reading this. Maybe comfort is what's holding you back. Explore your options, they're endless.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
