11 Reasons it's better to be the older sibling

Now that I'm older, I realize how great it is having a little sister so much younger than me. Here's 11 things I came up with that I notice everyday about being much older than my sisters.

1. They're so innocent.

They have such a sweet innocent mind. They think so highly of everything. They don't see the bad in hardly anything, except for the monsters hiding in their closets, of course. They are constantly thinking of toys and making friends. They haven't been exposed to the real world yet. We must protect their sweet minds at all costs.

2. You get your own mini me.

Wanna go shopping and get new clothes? Well guess what, then they want the same thing. They want to be just like you! They want to be your mirror image. No matter what you buy they will want to get it. Not just with clothes, but everything. Got a new game? They'll want that, too.

3. They're your excuse to watch kid movies.

I mean come on, Descendants 1 & 2 we're amazing.

4. They give you someone to laugh with.

Whether it's playing hide and go seek or just old fashion tickle fights, they never fail to keep the smile off your face.

5. They'll do anything you ask.

Will you go get my phone? Can you hand me the remote?

6. You get to watch them grow.

You've watched them grow since the time they were born. You see them change physically and mentally.

7. Makeovers.

They give everyone an excuse to dress up like princesses or superheros.

8. They make the holidays more interesting.

Yes, Santa is real. Yes, we are going to dress up as superheroes for Halloween.

9. You get to blame them for anything that happens.

Broken picture frame? It wasn't me it was them

10. They encourage you.

They tell you so many words of encouragement when they don't even mean to. They believe in you when no one else does. To them, you're their role model and can do anything.

11. They will be your best friend for life.

Need a shoulder to cry on? What's better than having them there for you when no one else is? You can count on them to cheer you up whenever you're down. You can tell them all your secrets and never have to worry about them being told.

Now that I'm older I realize how great it is having a little sister so much younger than me. Here's 11 things I came up with that I notice everyday about being much older than my sisters.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
