For most people, down time means binge-watching Netflix shows. For me, however, I end up watching hours and hours of Youtube videos. Some of them are stupid and don’t really mean anything, but there are some Youtube content creators that are consistent with their video production. I have had the pleasure of watching some of these Youtube creators over the past five or so years. Most of them, unsurprisingly, are book reviewers. This is generally where I get most of my reading recommendations—and why my to-read list is almost always overflowing. Each of these people focus on different types of books or different age groups but they all have important things to say. Here are my top five Youtubers that are currently making content right now.
5. Hailey from “Hailey in Bookland”

Hailey is from Canada but she frequently has great recommendations of books for you to read, although they are primarily in the Young Adult genre (I firmly believe that Young Adult is an age group and not a genre). But Hailey is well-spoken and I have thoroughly enjoyed every book that I’ve read that she mentions on her channel.
4. Natasha from “Tashapolis”

Natasha is a Youtuber that focuses on more than just books. She frequently has videos that are centered on fashion or makeup. Also, Natasha reviews movies and television shows. I have also thoroughly enjoyed every television show that she recommended on her channel.
3. Ameriie from “Books Beauty Ameriie”
https://www.youtube.com/user/BooksBeautyAmeriie
Like Natasha, Ameriie focuses on a more lifestyle type of video. She reviews makeup products, books, and has monthly favorites on her channel. She is the editor of the short story collection titled Because You Love to Hate Me, which is a collection of thirteen short stories that are focused on what it means to be a villain. This book comes out next year, in July 2017 and the project is unique because it is collaboration with many other Youtubers. This book is easily one of my most anticipated books of the year!
2. Christine from “Polandbananasbooks”
https://www.youtube.com/user/polandbananasBOOKS/vi...
I’ve been watching Christine from the very beginning, simply because I typed in the search bar of Youtube, book reviews. Not many people had been doing this yet and she was one of the first people I ever watched frequently. Her channel focuses mainly on comedy and book reviews. She also reviews movies and television shows. Each of her book talk goes in-depth with the plot, characters, and theories about upcoming books in currently running series.
1. Whitney from “Whitty Novels”
https://www.youtube.com/user/WhittyNovels
Whitney is a newer Youtuber but her content is still relatable. I consistently laugh whenever I watch her videos and she reviews books but also uploads vlog (video blog) content onto her channel fairly regularly. She also creates videos about journaling and how she decides what content goes into her journals, which is entertaining to watch in its own right.
