Best Steam Games About The Ocean

Let's hope you don't have thalassophobia (the fear of deep, dark bodies of water and what's hiding below that water). If you do like exploring the ocean, these Steam games are the ones for you!

1. Subnautica

The Steam description for this game is:

"Descend into the depths of an alien underwater world filled with wonder and peril. Craft equipment, pilot submarines and out-smart wildlife to explore lush coral reefs, volcanoes, cave systems, and more - all while trying to survive."

Subnautica is an open world survival adventure game set on an alien planet, where you can gather resources and craft interesting items. You can explore a range of underwater biomes, and dive deeper and deeper to discover the secrets of the strange planet.

2. Raft

The Steam description for this game is:

"Raft throws you and your friends into an epic oceanic adventure! Alone or together, players battle to survive a perilous voyage across a vast sea! Gather debris, scavenge reefs and build your own floating home, but be wary of the man-eating sharks!"

Raft is a single or multiplayer survival game where you are placed on a single piece of wood in an endless ocean. You can gather materials, expand your raft, and don't forget to try to avoid the sharks.

3. ABZÛ

The Steam description for this game is:

"From the art director of Journey®, ABZÛ is a beautiful underwater adventure that evokes the dream of diving. Immerse yourself in a vibrant hidden world bursting with color and life as you descend into the heart of the ocean. But beware as you swim deeper as dangers lurk in the depths."

ABZÛ is an adventure game where you are a diver exploring the ocean and restoring life using magical springs. This is a visually stunning underwater game about gaining knowledge and exploration without the stress of survival elements.

FarSky

The Steam description for this game is:

"FarSky is a short survival game in the depths of the Ocean. Collect all the pieces of your submarine and reach back the surface."

FarSky is a survival game where you try to repair your submarine to escape to the surface while avoiding all the dangers of the ocean that surround you.

I have been obsessed with Subnautica ever since it was still in beta and didn't have a plot yet. Even then, it was worth picking up, so now that it's a fully fleshed out game, put it on your Steam wishlist for the holidays. While you're at it, add all of these to your wishlist!

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

6125
Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
