I recently saw a tweet online that sparked my interest. A stan account started a thread where it asked their followers to only pick one song from each album that Lady Gaga has released since coming onto the music scene in 2008. With March 28th being the singer's 33rd birthday, I thought it would be fitting to pick my favorite song from her collection of albums.

The Fame (2008)

Her debut album was the beginning of her musical journey which includes some of her biggest hits like "Just Dance", "Paparazzi", "LoveGame", and this bop. "Poker Face" will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first song of hers that I heard. The song is one of the best-selling singles of all time with over fourteen million copies sold.

The Fame Monster (2009)

Lady Gaga reissued her debut album with an extra mini album of eight songs. This album included one of her biggest hits "Bad Romance" and a Beyoncé collaboration "Telephone".

"Dance In The Dark" was the fourth and final single off "The Fame Monster" and it is one of the most underrated singles she has released in my opinion.

The subject talks about a girl who likes to be intimate with her partner with the lights off because she is embarrassed about her body.

Born This Way (2011)

In her second studio album, she experienced with a more electronic rock sound. The album included her third number one song "Born This Way", "The Edge of Glory", and "You and I". "Government Hooker" is one of my favorite songs off the album along with "Judas", "Scheiße", and "Heavy Metal Lover". The DJ Snake co-produced track explores female sexual empowerment.

ARTPOP (2013)

In her third studio album, she transitioned into a electronic dance music era. This album is one of her most underrated albums by critics but is a favorite with her most hardcore fans. "Mary Jane Holland" was produced by French DJ/producer Madeon and talks about an alter-ego of Lady Gaga when she is high off of weed and drunk at a club in Amsterdam.

Cheek to Cheek (2014)

In 2014, she collaborated with American jazz legend Tony Bennett on an album. It was a completely 180 from the music she normally released. It consists of jazz standards written by popular jazz composers and lyricists.

The only song that wasn't a tradition jazz standard was a cover of this 1966 Cher song that was turned into a jazz song. It was one of the three solo songs from Lady Gaga on the album that was mostly duet with Bennett.

Joanne (2016)

Her fifth studio album saw a change in visual appearance and music which both was influenced by a very country and Americana look. "Perfect Illusion" was released as the lead single and first taste of her new music style. The song didn't sound like most of the songs on the album which is probably why it is my favorite songs off of this album.

A Star Is Born (2018)

In 2018, Lady Gaga released this soundtrack to one of the biggest films of that year featuring Bradley Cooper. The soundtrack features the Billboard number one song "Shallow", "Always Remember Us This Way", and "I'll Never Love Again".

This song was supposedly made to be a "bad pop song" but I believe it is the complete opposite. I honestly love this song the most from the movie because it reminds me of music she made during "The Fame" time period of her career.

You may agree or disagree with my song choices but that's okay. It's just my opinion. Now, I challenge you to pick your favorite song from each of her albums I listed above.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
