For most 18- to 22-year-olds, the fall means the return to their college and the return to the college town they have grown close to. For The University of Alabama students, it means returning, often from out of state, to Tuscaloosa Alabama. I am particularly excited to be returning to Tuscaloosa because the food scene is very different from my hometown in Colorado. Here, in no particular order, are some of the restaurants that I am most excited to be returning to in Tuscaloosa.
1. Cook Out
The holy grail of drunchies food. Everyone has their specific box combo that they like, be it a burger, corn dog, quesadilla, chicken nuggets, or hushpuppies. Oh and don't forget the sweet tea, Cheerwine or milkshake.
2. Zaxby's
Chicken finger sandwiches, crinkle cut fries and Zax sauce, what more could you want?
3. Moe's Southwestern Grill
Welcome to Moe's! Chipotle just doesn't live up to it.

4. Full Moon Barbecue
There really is nothing like Alabama barbecue
5. Buffalo Phil's
We like it because we can use dining dollars there, not because it's good.
6. Waffle House
Who doesn't want $4 hash browns after leaving Rounder's
7. Mr. Chen's Authentic Chinese Cooking
If you're looking for a sit down place for lunch or dinner, Mr. Chen's has got you covered.
8. Sitar Indian Restaurant
All you can eat lunch? Sign me up
9. Taco Casa
It just taste better than Taco Bell for some reason
10. Taco Mama
Tacos and margarita pitchers make for the perfect evening with friends.
11. Quick Grill
Messy fries. Retweet if you agree.
12. Surin of Thailand
Midnight sushi anyone?
13. If you're willing to drive a little bit, Whataburger
If you and your friends are up for a drive to Pelham then Whataburger is a nice treat.
So long story short, we should all be very excited to be returning to Tuscaloosa in the next couple of weeks.
