As graduation approaches faster and faster it’s time to say goodbye to some things I’ve become accustomed to. One of them being Prom. Prom, the night everyone gets dressed up for and has a big dance party.

This night becomes a memory that lasts forever, or at least I hope it does. Everyone has a different experience when it comes to prom and those can range from amazing to bleh. I personally believe that prom is whatever you make it to be, and things that are traditionally done, don’t need to happen.

My senior prom was one of the most entertaining (and somehow at the same time relaxing) proms I’ve ever gone to. I went with my best friend as my date and all of my girlfriends looked like Queens.

Even the ride to prom was fun. My school requires everyone to ride together to prom, so we make the most of it. Someone brought their speaker so my date and I decided to be the pre-Prom DJs with our amazing music tastes.

The music ranged from The Weekend, Cardi B, Lauryn Hill, Drake, all the way to Earth, Wind & Fire. The bus ride was definitely a favorite memory of mine, especially since I was singing my heart out the whole time.

This prom will hold a special place in my heart, I loved everything about it. Unlike what has usually been done for senior girls, I wore a short dress. Being completely honest I loved it; wearing a short dress made my life way easier.

The seniors have this pre-prom walk they do before hand and let me tell you, me walking in my heels and not tripping was a miracle. If we added a long dress to the equation, I definitely wouldn’t have made it through the night.

Now don’t get me wrong, ball gowns and long puffy dresses are amazing and all, but when you’re only 5 ft it seems like dresses always need to be altered. A few girls even had to make sure no one stepped on their dresses all night because of how long they were.

This prom was drama free and everyone there just wanted to have a good time, and honestly that’s all that’s needed to have a good prom. As long as everyone leaves the cliques and the basic high school cliche drama at home, everyone should just hang and dance the night away.

Your senior year of high school is the time where you do everything one last time. Saying goodbye to so many happy memories can be sad, but it’s time to go off on to new adventures.

So goodbye Prom, you were good to me. Thank you for helping me make more memories.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
