New Jersey is known for their guidos, accents, pizza, etc. But the people of NJ know much more about the beauty of their home. There is only one small spec of New Jersey where there are those stereotypes.
Monmouth County (Central Jersey) is one of the best places to go when adventuring and discovering New Jersey.
Here are some of the best towns to visit in Monmouth County, New Jersey!
1. Asbury Park
Asbury Park is one of the best places/towns I've ever been to! It's filled with music, hipsters and the gay community. A decade ago Asbury was known for it's dark times and no one really wanted to go there. But, then came the gay community and redid everything. The best parts of Asbury is downtown. It's filled with shops, restaurants and even a recording studio for local bands. Down the street is the boardwalk with it's neighbors of the iconic Wonderbar and Stone Pony. Both are legendary landmarks for music.
2. Ocean Grove
Ocean Grove is Asbury Park's neighbor. Unlike Asbury's many many many stores etc - Ocean Grove is known for it's beautiful homes. They're all lined up next to each other in a proper way. All homes are dressed in beautiful patterns and colors. It's the perfect place to walk around and just enjoy the air around you.
3. Long Branch
Long Branch is known as the "beach town" in Monmouth County. Growing up in Long Branch I've learned to love and hate Long Branch. I hate the traffic it brings in the summer but I know the traffic is for the good. Everybody from all over wants to enjoy the beach and attractions. The best beaches to go to in Long Branch is North End beach - it's quiet and a nice relaxing beach. If you are looking for a more upbeat beach - check out Pier Village. It's filled with stores and restaurants for every bodies liking. Including Playa Bowls, Coney Waffles and Ice Cream, Havaianas and Stewarts.
4. Red Bank
If you don't want the beach traffic come check out Red Bank! Red Bank is an inland town filled with shops and restaurants. Right past it's downtown area with the shops there is the Navesink River. There you can look out into the water and enjoy the view. You can even visit a park and go on the playground.
Of course there is so much more of Monmouth County to know about. But, I would definitely come here to see for yourself.
Hope to see you soon!
