Friendship. It exists at different levels with each connection being different from another. Some start naturally due to chemistry and others may take a while to truly bud. The great thing about it is that friendship is not exclusive to anyone, everyone not only has a friend, but a best friend whose relationship transcends all others. So what do people love most about the connection they have with their best friend? In order to find out, I asked 22 random people to provide a short list and in no particular order, here are the top 11 responses.

1. Non-verbal communication

"It definitely saves a lot of time when you can just give a look and they know exactly what your thinking. Especially when we're in class together and can't really talk."

2. Working out together

"Getting to the gym would be impossible if I didn't have my best friend to go with me; and once we get there I tend to push myself harder with their support."

3. Shopping buddy

"Shopping alone doesn't compare to bringing the girls along with you. Not only is the company enjoyable but they can keep you from making horrible decisions on clothing."

4. Someone to vent to

"I swear my professor was out to get me for the longest time. Literally, after about every test or class I would go to my friend and vent for a solid 5 minutes. We kind of had a thing where Wednesdays were my venting days and Thursdays were hers."

5. You can always be yourself around them

"When we hang out there is zero judgement and it is amazing."

6. Wingman

"Sometimes your friend just needs a little assistance, whether it's talking to someone they find attractive or whatever."

7. Excuse/back-up

"One time my ex cornered me and I needed a quick out and just like that I got a phone call from my friend. When I took the call he started screaming and I was able to use it as an excuse to get away. Apparently, he spotted my situation from across the quad and knew I needed help."

8. Notes/academic support

"My friend is a genius, I wouldn't have made it this far in school without him. I like to think it goes both ways though, on the occasion he misses class I take notes for him; though he has to explain them to me."

9. Someone to call me out

"If they need to be put in their place I'll do it because it's exactly what best friends do. I know for a fact she does the same for me."
