I don’t know about you, but now is about the time when I start getting really tired of my winter wardrobe and am just itching to get into my summer clothes. It’s been a great season of sweaters, jeans and boots, but now I’m ready for some sundresses and sandals.

One problem I face transitioning from my winter wardrobe to my spring, however, is that my options greatly increase because I’m a clothes hoarder, to say the least. I collect clothes like young boys collect baseball cards. I guarantee if you look hard enough, you’ll find at least one item of clothing in my closet from middle school.

With that great of a collection of clothes comes many choices, sometimes too many of them. So, I’ve come up with a list of the best summertime outfits:

1. Jean Jacket and a Dress

Extra points if it’s white. Just slip on a pair of flats, sandals or wedges, and you’re good to go! This outfit is perfect if you’re going to be gone all day into the night or if it's a bit cooler outside because the jacket will keep you warm while the dress keeps you looking like summertime. This is one of my favorite outfits to break out at the end of April/beginning of May because it's perfect for the 50-degree mornings and 70-degree sunny afternoons.

2. Maxi Dress

Another great option if you're going to be in the same outfit into the evening. Put on some cute jewelry to dress up a more casual dress or toss on a cardigan to dress down a nicer one. There's just something so elegant looking about a girl in a maxi dress.

3. Cuffed Jeans and a Tank

This is a staple outfit. Perfect for anything from a day out shopping to roasting marshmallows around a bonfire. It’s easy, it’s versatile and it involves clothes that you already have plenty of. Not to mention you just look cute and put together—no one will ever know that those jeans lay crumpled on your floor for a week before you put them on today.

4. Jean Shorts and a Tee

Comfort is key. On hot days, beach days, lazy days, this is the outfit I’m reaching for. It’s easy, low-maintenance and will keep me cool.

5. Romper

Rompers, much like dresses, are great because they make it seem as if you tried to dress up and put yourself together for the occasion. In reality, there was almost zero thought involved at all. No matching is necessary when it’s all one piece. Plus with a romper, there’s the added bonus of shorts, so you don’t need to worry about the wind playing peek-a-boo.

6. High-waisted Shorts with a Tucked-in Shirt

I love love love that high-waisted shorts are coming back in style. They’re so fun, and there’s so much you can do with them. A lot of people go for the crop tops, but I prefer a tucked-in shirt. It shows off the shorts without showing off too much skin, and tucking the shirt in gives off a very mature, put-together vibe.

7. A-line Skirt

These flowy skirts are so fun. Wear them with a tank top, wear them with a short sleeve shirt, wear them with a cardigan—the possibilities are endless. The lightweight material and a-line hem looks cute and flattering on any figure.

8. Gym Shorts and a T-Shirt

Sometimes you've just got to be comfortable. Put your hair up in a ponytail, throw on some rubber flip flops and run your errands in comfort while also looking effortlessly cute.

Happy summer season!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
