The 11 Best "Orange Is The New Black" Characters

It's finally June and that means for Netflix viewers on June 17, most viewers favorite show comes back. That show of course is "Orange is the New Black." The reason this show has drawn people in from the first season is the characters. Though this show has so many characters, the writers make it a goal to tell everyone's story and how these characters got there. These characters stories are so complex and makes you extremely sympathetic to everything that these people have been through. Even though all of these characters have some special part of them these are the 11 best characters that have so far been on "Orange is the New Black."

11. Piper Chapman

A lot of people have grown to dislike Piper as the show has progressed, but she is the main character, so she had to make this list and people are compassionate to how she got to prison.

10. Red

Red has grown to be a character favorite. She was once on top, and then she got knocked down, but she always gets knocked down.

9. Big Boo

Before Season 3, Big Boo's character was only minor, but when she formed a close friendship with Pennsatucky, her character became more developed and lovable.

8. Nicky Nichols

From the beginning, Nicky was a tell-it-like-it-is character who from the first episode was one of my favorites. But as you learn more about her, you learn that even people who come from money can end up on the bad side of life.

7. Norma

In the first two seasons, Norma is a mute, mind-her-own business character, but in Season 3 she gets a group of religious followers and her backstory, which makes Norma a lovable character.

6. Brooke SoSo

Soso starts out as the annoying hippie who talks way too much, but after a hunger strike and her depression and suicide attempt from being alone in prison, she has definitely become one of my personal favorites.

5. Sophia Burset

No reason necessary! She's just fierce!!

4. Daya Diaz

Her romance with Bennett gave everyone the feels, but mostly putting Mendez in jail puts her on top of this list.

3. Poussey Washington

In Season One, she was a little-known character, but she has become one of my favorite characters. She joined the Norma worship group, and after SoSo's suicide attempt, she became SoSo's friend.

2. Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett

.This character was my least favorite character in Season One, and I legit hated her! As the show progresses and you learn more about her past, you quickly learn how hard of a life she has truly had, and she isn't such a horrible person.

1. Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren

From the beginning, she was welcoming to Piper when everyone shut her out, but when Piper rejected her, she took crazy action. As you learn her backstory, you realize that she is actually a good person with a good background but in the end, just can't control her anger. She was adopted into a loving home, and her parents are still there for her. She is hilarious and cares about her friends, and whenever you think you know her, she surprises you again. Which is why she is No. 1 on the list.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
