Every year, E3 does nothing but shock and entertain gamers all over the country. This year wasn't the most exciting, in my opinion, because there seemed to be a lack of surprises, but seeing all the trailers and gameplay definitely got me pumped to try out some of these games for myself. Here are the seven most anticipated games you'll need to check out.
1. "The Last of Us 2"
PlayStation Universe
Fans have been waiting and waiting to get a trailer for "The Last of Us," and, finally, at E3, they got just what they wanted. While the trailer without gameplay didn't give away much about the story, it did show us that Ellie has a new love interest. We can also see Ellie sporting a new tattoo. It seems the zombie apocalypse isn't quite over yet.
2. "Ghost of Tsushima"
vg427.it
This game can best be described as the game we all didn't know we wanted, and, now that we have a trailer, we absolutely need it. The concept of the game is so uniquely original and never-before-seen that it doesn't take long for the trailer to completely pull you in.
3. "Resident Evil 2 Remake"
Den of Geek
What is E3 without at least a little sheer terror? "Resident Evil" has for a long time been known as a great combat horror game series. "Resident Evil 7" changed that slightly when it became more of a "run for your life because you are constantly out of ammo" sort of game. With this new 2019 release, we can expect the "Resident Evil" universe to revert back to the older games and be a long and troubling fight for survival.
4. "Beyond Good and Evil 2"
Gamepur
This is the game that stood out the most for me. I had stumbled upon a very short teaser trailer for this game a little while back and was confused, but, at the same time, really intrigued. Now that we have a full length trailer for the game, it is clear that some incredible talent went into creating this game's concept and story. Not only are the characters unique, but the atmosphere is a mix between "Spirited Away," "Star Wars" and "Alien Isolation."
5. "Death Stranding"
GameSpot
If you are a fan of Norman Reedus, chances are that you've heard of this game long before E3. By watching the trailer, I can tell you that the story somewhat eludes and disturbs me. "Death Stranding" will definitely be a game that you won't be able to ignore. Also, the scenery in the game is absolutely stunning.
6. "Anthem"
Game Rant
Anytime someone in a trailer says, "There's a storm coming!" you know that you're in for one heck of a ride. "Anthem" gives us some fairly terrifying monsters and a whole lot a fire power. If you are a fan of in-game combat, "Anthem" is going to be just right for you.
7. "We Happy Few"
Gameranx
"We Happy Few" is one of the only games that has already been released. However, when it did release, it was solely for PCs. Luckily, if you are not a fan of PC gaming or never got the chance to play the game, it will now be releasing on consoles. Get ready to take your joy and become a part of a crazy world full of secrets.
There was a lot of diversity at E3 this year and, no matter what games you prefer, there was something there for you. From horror to thriller action games to plain old adventures, you will have a list full of new games to play for months to come.
