Finding makeup products that we enjoy is always a challenge. I have tried countless products over the years and had trouble finding a specific brand or product that I consistently enjoy. It's pretty ironic how we are basically putting dirt on our face to improve our appearance, but alas, we still do it. If we are going to put dirt on our face, why not make sure its actually nice dirt. It is important to find makeup that does the job while still being good for your skin.

It was from recommendation of a friend of mine to try out Bare Minerals products. I was tired of feeling like I had pounds of makeup caked on my face, so I was in search of a new routine. I started out with the Bare Minerals loose powder foundations, and from that point on, I only have good things to say. The bare essentials of Bare Minerals that I recommend are:

The Get Started Kit: If you are looking to try out Bare Minerals for the first time, this is a great kit to get you started. It includes a makeup pouch/compact, the original loose powder foundation, a loose powder matte foundation, a loose powder bronzer, a mineral veil, a primer, and their signature application brush that works wonderfully with many other products. This kit converted me to a Bare Minerals fanatic.

Perfecting Veil: This product leaves a nice, finished look on your face, and your skin feeling smooth. I use it because it helps to blend the products even further and leaves a finishing touch.

Bare Minerals BareSKIN liquid foundation and Perfecting Face Brush: After I tried out the powder foundation, I wanted to see if I would like the liquid foundation as an alternative. This liquid foundation has a very different consistency compared to other liquid foundations out there. The foundation works best when applied with the Perfecting Face Brush, which was designed specifically for this foundation. All you need are one or two drops of the foundation onto the brush and it covers your entire face. Something else that is great about this product is that it lasts a long time.

Concealer: I use their concealer sparingly because I LOVE it.

Original Primer: This primer is wonderful! I have only used the original, but they have options for all types. It goes on so smoothly and doesn't leave a residue feeling on your face. You can feel it creating a nice, even surface on your skin.

Matte Loose Powder Foundation: I first found that I loved this product when I used it with my Get Started Kit. Now I use a layer of the BareSKIN liquid foundation and a layer of the loose powder, matte foundation.

I highly recommend trying out their products. Bare Minerals is a quality makeup that is good for your skin and most importanltly LASTS. I am so thankful for finally finding products that I can consistently use, replace, and recommend to others.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
