Let’s be real here. Everyone’s favorite thing to do when they go out is to eat afterwards. This article is going to lay out the best places to eat in Ithaca after having an amazing night out with your friends. There are different restaurants to cater to everyone’s different tastes. Let’s start with the closest places in Collegetown that will feed your late night cravings.
First, most students go to: Collegetown Pizza, better known as CTP. CTP is absolutely the end all be all of late night eating. Rasheed’s pearly whites beaming over endless combinations of cheese and assorted meats is all I need to get through these cold winter nights.
However, there are times when the line at CTP is so long that it doesn’t make sense to wait that long. One of the other favorites is Collegetown Bagels, also known as CTB. I promise you this is the last restaurant that uses initials. But if you have never experienced Collegetown Bagels, then you have never been to Ithaca. Imagine every type of bagel combination possible with an array of toppings and delicious fillings. Along with many different sandwiches, smoothies and pastries, Collegetown Bagels has anything and everything you could possibly want.
Moving on, Insomnia Cookies is well known place all over the east coast. Serving delicious warm cookies up until 2 AM! Literally there is nothing better if you’re having a rough night to order a large giant hot cookie and a bottle of milk, puts me to sleep like a baby.
If pizza, bagels, and cookies aren’t enough to warm you up on those cold Ithaca nights, and you live on North Campus or catch a bus, one the most popular places to go is Bear Necessities (referred to as Nasties). Where else can you find a place that makes you a personal pizza, calzone, mozzarella sticks, turkey burgers and a grocery store all up until 2 AM? Nasties can be held solely responsible for the freshman 15. The amount of food that you can buy there and not even spend your own money is insane. Use all of your Big Red Bucks or rack up your Cornell Card either way you’re getting a bunch of food that real help ease those late night cravings you can’t help but have.
If you have someone who is nice enough and can drive you somewhere then you have all the regular chain options like McDonalds, Wendy’s, Denny’s, Taco Bell all places that offer cheap late night food, but there’s nothing special about them because they are everywhere! Next time you’re out and about and haven’t stopped at these prime locations don’t hesitate this weekend!
