"How I Met Your Mother" is one of those shows that is usually watched for the laughs, but ends up teaching just about every viewer a little bit more about themselves. This show shows everyone how to get through life, whether that be single or married, there is a little bit for everyone, which is why I believe viewers enjoy it so much. So many quotes are said throughout the series that relate to everyone's lives, here are some that you may have forgotten but definitely need to hear again.

1. “That’s life, you know. We never end up where you thought you wanted to be." -Marshall

2. “We’re going to get older, whether we like it or not, so the only question is whether we get on with our lives or desperately cling to the past." -Ted

3. “I wound up shame-eating the whole pizza. I woke up all greasy and sweaty. My sheets looked like what they wrap deli sandwiches in. Maybe I should join a gym. Do you go to a gym?" -Ted

4. "Eventually we're all gonna move on. It's called growing up." -Lily

5. “The future is scary, but you can’t just run back to the past because it’s familiar. Yes it’s tempting, but it’s a mistake." -Robin

6. “Maybe this isn’t a breakup. Maybe this is just two friends getting back together." -Barney

7. “Shouldn’t we hold out for the person who doesn’t just tolerate our little quirks, but actually kind of likes them?" -Ted

8. “Sometimes things have to fall apart to make way for better things." -Ted

9. "Whenever I’m sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead." -Barney

10. "There are a lot of little reasons why the big things in our lives happen." -Ted

11. "A word of advice: play along. The more you fight it, the worse it’s gonna get. It’s like when your car slides on ice, you stir into the skid." -Ted

12. "People don’t get the chance to discover each other anymore." -Ted

13. "If you keep giving up on people so quickly, you're gonna miss out on something great." - Robin

14. "But love doesn't make sense! You can't logic your way into or out of it. Love is totally nonsensical. But we have to keep doing it or else we're lost and love is dead, and humanity should just pack it in. Because love is the best thing we do." - Ted

15. "I used to be in such a hurry all the time. Everything was so urgent. Now I figure, if it's going to happen, it'll happen when it happens. I'm not going anywhere; she's not going anywhere. What's the rush, right?" -Ted

16. "But that's the funny thing about destiny: it happens whether you plan it or not. It turns out I was just too close to the puzzle to see the picture that was forming." - Ted

17. "I realized that I'm searching, searching for what I really want in life. And you know what? I have absolutely no idea what that is." -Barney

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
