Having a gay best friend is necessary.
I mean, isn't it every girl's dream to have that one best friend to help them shop, pick out outfits, talk about boys, and run the streets of their hometown all the time?
For some girls, that is another girl in their life. Sadly, those girls don't know what they're missing out on with a gay best friend.
I, personally, have the best gay best friend ever. We fight like we're married, have sleepovers, talk about boys, watch chick flicks, wear Christmas PJs on Christmas Eve, and make each other pancakes as legitimate Christmas gifts.
I love my best friend. I wouldn't change him or trade him for the world. He is amazing, and I recently came across the movie "Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List." As I sat there, watching, I realized it accurately described his and mine's relationship, and I decided I had to write about it.
These are the top seven reasons why every girl needs a gay best friend:
1. Someone to be goofy with.
Your best friend is supposed to be goofy with you! So he might as well be "out there" already, you feel?
2. He is there to help you figure out if your boyfriend is gay.
I mean, sometimes, you can't tell if your boy is into you. Because if he acts more into you than your boy does, then there's a problem. And that is what your gay best friend is there for.
3. He'll protect you.
At some point in time, every girl has only felt safe with their gay best friend for a period of time. Whether that would be 13 years or three months, he will be your security blanket.
4. Let's be honest... boy talk.
Who better to talk about boys with than a boy? It's also super fun to drool over the ones playing basketball in the park, even if they're on your mutual "No Kiss List."
5. Sexy Halloween partner?
Hell yes. I mean, you can be any pair of sexy partners, because why not?
6. He'll call you out.
A best friend is required to keep you in check when you're crazy. He is supposed to tell you not to take that last shot, he's your wingman, and they make sure you're dressed the perfect amount of slutty. Then he can put a stop to your craziest shenanigans, or help you pursue your crazy endeavors
7. Lastly, he is there to escort you everywhere.
You will coordinate outfits and take on the world together.
At the end of the day, he's your best friend, soul mate, and safety. He will always be that boy that is there for you, even when you hate each other's guts. I recommend that every girl find themselves a gay best friend, because mine is a part of my family, and he's my lifeline.
