A Letter To My Best Friend's Future Husband

Dear boy who is going to steal my best friend's heart,

Congratulations. You, sir, are the luckiest guy on the planet. You just married the most stunning girl to ever walk this earth. Let’s be real, we both know she’s a silver dollar (calling her a dime would be an understatement). Not only is she beautiful, but she has the biggest heart for every person who crosses her path. She’s smart. She’s clever. She’s sassy. She’s selfless. She’s adventurous. She’s loved by everyone. She’s the whole package, dude. Now obviously you must’ve done something right for her to pick you out of all of the fish that swim her way. Four for you Glen Coco, you go Glen Coco. So now that you’ve got her, here are some things you need to know before anything else:

Be prepared for numerous girls' nights at your house.

Sisters before misters. Bows before bros. Oh and I get dibs on being her big spoon.

If she wants to watch "The Little Mermaid," watch "The Little Mermaid."

That’s right, turn off the football game for once home boy.

She wants to see the world.

You better take her wherever she wants to go. Even if you have work that day…leave work and buy two plane tickets. She’s worth it.

She’s a morning person.

So when she wakes you up at 5:32 a.m. to watch the sunrise, go chase that sunrise with her. Chase it with a happy attitude, no matter how tired you may be. I mean, you’re with your precious girl. You better make her some coffee though (with two packs of sugar and a touch of cream, just how she likes it).

You are not her number one guy.

The most important thing you need to know about her is that you will never be her number one. Her #1 is God. Her #1 will always be God. You will never come close to the relationship that she has with Him. My biggest hope for you is that you will never make her the #1 in your life either. If the priority in your heart isn’t for God, then you won’t in a million years be able to love her as well as she deserves.

Lastly, read Proverbs 3:15-18.

If those words aren't what you think about her, you better run. You better run real fast boy.

Take care of my girl and make her laugh every single day.
