Many people have friends or even best friends that are going to be graduating and heading off into the real world this spring. I know that graduating from college is a part of the process, but I wish it was something you didn't have to do. Next year I'm going to be taking on college without you, and that is terrifying. The countdown didn't seem real until that night we sat on your floor drinking and you reminded me that we only a have a little over a month left in a college environment.
In about a month you're going to put your big girl pants on and leave Bridgewater State and me behind. It's selfish of me to want you to stay, but I am so proud of the accomplishments you've made this past year. You grew into a person that I love even more each day. I'm so happy to have you as my best friend, and next year is going to be hard not having you with me every single day. You too me under your wing my freshman year and since then we've been inseparable.
These past five years have been leading up to the moment where you put on that cap and gown and you cross that stage into the real world. I'm so excited for this next chapter of your life, and I'll be right here waiting for you to come back and visit and relive all the good memories, but until then I'm so excited to finish this last month with you by my side. You've grown to be my person over the last three years, and you've taught me so much about myself and I can't wait to learn all of the new things that you're going to teach me about what is to come. I'm so thankful that we randomly became friends because without you I don't know what my experience in college would have been like.
If I could hold your legs and try to get you to stay then I would, but graduating is going to be so good for you. This past year has been up and down and I know that being able to have space form all of that will be good for you, and I can't wait to hear about all the stories that are going to come from this upcoming chapter of your life.
Thank you for all you've done for me over the past three years. We've made so many memories and there are so many to come. I can't wait to see you cross that stage in May and start a new part of your future. Don't forget about me when you're all grown up, and don't worry I will always keep you young, Grandma. I love you to the moon and back, even further than that maybe. If there was any question whether or not i cried during this, then you don't know me as well as you thought. Let's make this last month count!
