To My Best Friend and Future Roommate

To my best friend and future roommate:

They say that in life you find one absolute best friend. The person who no matter what you're going through, they will be there. The person you can trust with everything. The person that doesn't mind taking random trips with you to get groceries, hang out with you and your family, and vice versa. I have found mine: My best friend and future roommate for the college years to come.

When I was in 8th grade, I joined the high school marching band. I was terrified, absolutely terrified of the high school students. They seemed so big and in charge back then, but little did I know that one of them would be my best friend. I'll have to admit, we weren't the automatically clicked type of friends. At first, I thought you were snobby and rude, and I was a quirky little middle schooler. As the year went on, we become closer, and we became "twins". The majority of the time we're the same person.

Fast forward 4 years later, you're in college and I'm a senior in high school. These past 4 years, we've been through a lot together; breakups, long bus rides, talking when we were supposed to be playing in the band, and lots and lots of food runs. I can never thank you enough for always being there for me, and putting me in my place when I'm in a mood.

I don't think I could imagine anyone better to be my roommate, nor would I want anyone else to be. You're the best friend I could have ever asked for. We hang out so much, usually doing absolutely nothing, besides eating the food of course. Even though you frustrate me to no end, if it was anyone else I wouldn't put up with it. You will always be my best friend.

Whether you like it or not.

Love,

Your best friend.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
